Memmingen Airport (FMM), also known as Allgäu Airport Memmingen, is a small airport, about 115 kilometres (71 miles) west of Munich. The airport is a hub of budget airlines such as Ryanair and Wizz Air.
Unlike Munich Airport, there are not many options available from Memmingen Airport into Munich. Driving is, of course, the fastest way, but you can also travel on bus.
The best way is taking the Allgäu-Airport Express. Bus times are synchronised with flight times. The trip between Memmingen and Munich takes about one hour and 30 minutes. A ticket costs €15 online, or €20 in cash to the driver.
If you’re flying with Ryanair, there is also a dedicated low cost bus service available, connecting Memmingen Airport and Munich’s main train station (München Hauptbahnhof). Buses run only when there is at least one booking. The journey takes 80 to 90 minutes depending on traffic, and costs €15.50 one way.
